A Bit About Me

I am an avid explorer and I have varied interests. I enjoy delving deep into topics and learning about the mechanics of various subject matters.

Every passion I choose to pursue, reveals to me new facets of life and unearths undiscovered parts of myself.

As a young kid in elementary school, as I supported my mother's entrepreneurial journey 2011 - 2017, I jumped into coding with Javascript and Python to experience the thrill of building ideas with code and how rewarding it can feel to see your creation come to life instantly.

When I pursued my interest in French baking thereafter in 2017 - 2019, many concepts I learnt in coding seemed to find a home in the science of baking. I found it very algorithmic and at the same time the science was very precise. I studied molecular gastronomy through courses on coursera to understand the interaction of acid, fat and heat in the art of baking. 

I pursued learning to bake French recipes over a short duration at the Parisian school of Cooking, Le Foodist in France in Nov 2019 and started a small bakery online when I returned home so I could bake baguettes, macaroons, eclairs and macrons for my family and friends.

Soon thereafter in 2020, as the world went through uncertain times during covid, I found myself dabbling with words that started to flow through my intuitive sense of algorithms and emerged as poems. I penned over 200 poems in a short period of 3 months and collaborated with someone who read my poems online in Hungary and was fascinated by a 13 year old writing soulful poems. She offered to illustrate my poems and that began an international collaboration I am very grateful for. The experience enriched both our journeys, hers as a fine arts student in Budapest and mine as I explored the solitude of the times with my poems.

Eventually in Jan 2022, I published my book of poems "Silver Sparrows" and Groelier, the oldest all poetry bookstore located on Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts, agreed to carry a consignment of my book. I marketed and sold the books at local coffee shops, did poetry readings at artist locations, sold the book over Etsy and built a website to sell directly. The book was met with rave reviews and I felt humbled by all the accolades I received which deepened my love of writing.

Recently, I found my way back to the world of Figure Skating that I had tried earlier in my childhood for a few years when I was two. I find the expression of form with movement equally exhilarating, as the form of expression through writing.

I returned to find my childhood instructor, still teaching and I asked her to coach me. In 3 months, not only had I re-learnt the 3 years of training, I had previously but, I had moved up to freelance skating and participated in two regional competitions to win first place in my category.

As I graduate High School, I look forward to continuing my journey of exploration in the field of Linguistics and Data Science.​​
